The Zoom In tool allows you to zoom in on your map display to view a smaller region of your area of interest. The following methods are available to zoom in on the map. Select the title for each option to learn more.
Zoom In using the Map Navigation controls uses the Zoom In tool in the Navigation menu.
Zoom In using the slider scale bar uses the slider scale bar to zoom in on the map.

Zoom In using the Map Navigation controls
Click the Zoom In tool from the Tools and Map Navigation menu.
Use your mouse to draw a box around your area of interest. Hold the left mouse button down as your draw your box.
Release the mouse button to submit your zoom in query. The map display zooms to display a large scale of the selected location, a smaller area with a higher level of detail.
Zoom In using the scale slider bar
Drag the slider bar triangle towards the "+" sign to zoom in.
Alternately, you can click the "+" sign on the slider bar to zoom in. The map will zoom one increment level at a time.
Zoom In using the keyboard controls
The keyboard controls do not require that the Zoom In tool is activated in order to zoom in on the map display.
Hold down the Shift key and use your mouse to draw a box around your area of interest. Hold the left mouse buttons down as you draw your box.
