09/07/11 Bogota, TN – Yesterday, Connected Tennessee’s Computers 4 Kids program joined forces with AT&T to announce the donation of brand new computers to the Bogota Community Center in rural west Tennessee.
Three brand new computers were donated to the community center, adding to the three already
awarded to the center by C4K and AT&T last summer.
State Representative Bill Sanderson, on hand to show his support of C4K, remarked that the impact of the computers on the community would be significant.
“Thanks to AT&T and Computers 4 Kids, citizens in this community who wouldn't otherwise have access to a computer are now going to have a world of opportunities right at their fingertips,” Rep. Sanderson commented. “With the donation of these computers, we are equipping the community of Bogota with the tools they need to pursue academic, professional, and personal success. Congratulations to the Bogota Community Center on this exciting opportunity."
Yesterday’s donation was made possible by a grant from the AT&T Foundation, a group whose mission to place technology in the hands of Tennessee’s youth closely matches that of Connected Tennessee’s.
To date, the Computers 4 Kids program has distributed nearly 4,000 computers statewide.
