April 2010

In April edition of our eCS newsletter, we will bring you up-to-speed on some exciting updates to the Connected Tennessee website, most notably the new and improved BroadbandStat and the release of our latest round of research data, Tennessee's Technology Trends 2010. We'll also bring you all the details about an innovative initiative recently launched by the State of Tennessee to equip Tennessee's libraries with computer technology resources and training in order to strengthen rural communities and help the unemployed. We'll show you how Connected Nation is working to help senior citizens across the country connect to the world by connecting to the Internet. Plus, whether you're hitting the books or hitting the lake this summer, our valued partners at AT&T are going the extra mile to keeping you on the information highway. March 2010

We kick off the first eCS newsletter of 2010 by welcoming Alyson Sumerford to the role of State Operations Manager for the East Tennessee region. Alyson takes over the role from Corey Johns, who was recently named Senior Stakeholder Relations Manager for our parent company, Connected Nation. Get to know Alyson on page 2. Also in this month's newsletter, see why Connected Tennessee was recently in the spotlight on Capitol Hill and meet an innovative young man in Memphis who has taken job searching in Tennessee to a whole new level.

In this month's newsletter, we'll introduce you to BroadbandStat - the Next Generation of Broadband Mapping!We'll also bring you up-to-speed on the latest stimulus grant announcement that promises to improve the quality of healthcare acrossthestate by utilizing technology to cut costs and increase efficiency. Plus, travel with us to Perry County as we unveil the latest project in the works by VisionPerry, a Digital Factory that is expected to create new jobs and stimulate the local economy.

December 2009

It’s been an exciting month for Connected Tennessee, capping off a banner year for broadband expansion in Tennessee. In this month’s newsletter, we’ll bring you the highlights from 2009. The most significant development happened just last week, when the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) announced the awarding of $1.8 million to the state of Tennessee and Connected Tennessee through The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The award will help Connected Tennessee deliver a comprehensive map of existing broadband service to the state, among other things.

November 2009

We are proud to announce that our Computers 4 Kids program recently awarded all six of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis with brand new computers. Also in this month’s eCS newsletter, we’ll tell you about an online campaign that has Tennessee schools competing to win a whopping $100,000 prize to be used in any way they like to better their campuses. Plus, if you’re on the lookout for the perfect Christmas tree, no need to drive all over town – we’ve got a high-speed shortcut to help you locate your tree without ever leaving home! And did you know Tennessee is home to the world’s fastest computer? We’ll reveal where to find it in this month’s edition of “Did You Know?”
